FIVE 5TAGES started as an artistic collaboration between Kiriako Iatridis and Brianne Urzada. In March of 2013, at the age of twenty three, Brianne was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. During her fourth round of chemotherapy she and Kiriako decided to document her body and emotions. Each image represents one of the five stages of grief as written by Kübler-Ross (denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance).

In 2015, after being in remission for almost two years, Brianne and Kiriako decided to put the images to good use. They hosted an art auction at Kiriako’s studio, selling the FIVE 5TAGES prints, and an original painting by Brianne. As well as a few donated pieces by other artists. The event was successful and has raised over $60,000 for the Hospitals of Regina foundation.

Today, Brianne is still cancer free, and together with her husband Eric, are raising their new little boy, Winston.
